This was a phased demolition and full replacement of four 1200A sections of the 15kV distribution switchgear at located in an underground vault at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, an active hospital. The existing units were replaced with 2,000A sections of 15kV metal-clad switchgear. Aarow was to splice and extend existing MV feeders in the existing campus manholes and provide a programmable logic controller for the main breakers. The phased work minimized outage time in order to ensure power throughout the critical facility.
